Malebria - Alpha - v0.3.7
Malebria Alpha v0.3.7 is finally live, providing all of the changes I promised in the previous devlog and a bit more. Unfortunately, this update took quite a bit longer than I had expected due to some administrative work related to my college that needed to get done. Needless to say, delays of this magnitude should be few and far between now that that is finished. Back to the update though, the Fallen Necromancer was buffed to make the fight against him more interesting, and I also found some bugs that were causing his teleportation to function incorrectly, which I fixed. That fight should be much more challenging/engaging now. The Miner basic enemy was changed so they can no longer miss the player at point-blank range. Iruq's "Infernal" effect was changed to proc after a bit of a delay, with a base damage value added for infernal. Agyn's "Bleed" effect now has an indicator for its duration and received a buff to its damage. The full changelist is below:
- Buffed Iruq, The Reaper. Gave his "Infernal" effect a base amount of damage and altered its functionality to apply the damage after a time, instead of instantaneously.
- Buffed Agyn's "Bleed" damage and added a timer to increase the comprehensibility of that effect.
- Fallen Necromancer AoEs now move.
- Fixed issue with Fallen Necromancer not teleporting to player.
- Moved the Miner's attack backward to prevent the player walking through the attack.
- Increased the velocity of the Miner's attack.
- Added an arrow to indicate the direction of the last enemy for a given wave.
- Fixed issue with "Igneous Solution" upgrade of the "Infernal" effect not applying to enemies correctly.
- Fixed issue with the game crashing if the player died while fighting the Fallen Necromancer.
- Fixed issue with Noreus not carrying over after a death/run.
I will almost certainly be making some revisions to this update for a while, but I hope to have v0.4.0 out before long with the inclusion of new content. I cannot promise what exactly I will get done, but I would like to get the second region in the works as well as add a new character. There should be many other QoL and performance changes as well, but those are my larger objectives for v0.4.0. v0.3.8 may come out in between now and v0.4.0, because I have a gameplay element (new type of attack) that I want to introduce. But you can certainly expect to see a new environment, enemies, elites, characters and more in October. Thank you to all of you that have checked out my game, and I hope you enjoy the changes!
