Malebria - Alpha - v0.3.5
Malebria Alpha v0.3.5 is now live. v0.3.5 brings a few changes to the behaviors of the boss and the elites, but the most significant part of v0.3.5 are the changes to the UI, which were previously undeclared in the devlog for v0.3.4. Save files now display information about the save file such as current location and time played, and the "Run Stats" button finally has functionality, giving you a host of stats to let you know how your run is going. All of the changes in v0.3.5 are listed below, in detail:
- The “Run Stats” button in the pause menu has functionality now. It takes you to a menu which displays information about your run such as your location, number of soul fragments accumulated over the run, how much time has passed since the start of the run, etc. This will eventually be expanded to give a detailed account of the upgrades you had acquired over the course of your run.
- Filled save files now display info about the given save file.
- All Elite enemies have greatly improved range and can see through walls.
- Gauvain now glows blue shortly before using his “Shockwave” attack.
- Reduced the speed of both Gauvain’s “Shockwave” and “Axe Throw” attacks.
- “Apply” buttons now also act as Back buttons in addition to their normal function.
- Which character you were during a run now carries over after winning a run.
- Reduced instances of the player “catching” on walls.
- Fixed Elite enemies’ AI stalling.
- Fixed an issue where players were unable to dash through the Runt enemy’s charge attack and the Fallen Necromancer’s damaging areas without taking damage.
- Fixed “Explosive” effect upgrade “Igneous Solution”. It now functions as it is described.
- Fixed an issue with “Reaper’s Privilege” upgrade remaining active between runs.
There will almost certainly be a couple updates between v0.3.5 and v0.3.6 because of the need to fix bugs introduced by new content, but I believe v0.3.6 should still be coming out within the 1-2 week range from now. Malebria - Alpha - v0.3.6 will likely contain a few quality of life changes throughout every facet of the game, which will take up most of my time for v0.3.6. I may be able to fix some of the tiles in "Exitium's Reprieve Staging Ground" and add new ones. Lastly, there is a small possibility that I might be able to add an entire new character which uses a ranged attack instead of melee. Doing so is always tough, due to the number of upgrades that have to be bug-checked, but I might just be able to sneak this new character into v0.3.6.
